The JFK Files archive is an independent digital repository of declassified records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. These documents were released in 2025 pursuant to President Trump's executive directive ordering the full disclosure of all previously withheld CIA, FBI, and NSA assassination-related records.
The archive is built and maintained by Christopher Smoot, a software developer who specializes in building modular, automated data ingestion systems. Documents are processed through automated OCR transcription and full-text indexing, making sixty years of withheld intelligence records searchable and publicly accessible.
